This BELLHOUSING ADAPTER PLATE allows you to bolt a 1983 thru 1993 Ford T5 5-speed Transmission onto the Ford Flathead stamped-steel Bellhousing that was found on the 1949-53 Mercury and Ford engines.

With this kit, you continue to use the stock Ford Flathead Flywheel, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, starter, clutch plate, and pilot bushing.

Understand the uniqueness of the Ford Stamped-Steel Belhousing.

First and foremost, the Belhousing/Transmission 7/16s threads, all are Fine thread. Which, then requires all fasteners to be Fine (20tpi) threaded.
With the Upper 2 being countersunk, and lightly installed found the Lower 2 holes off-position, lacking true position .030. Opening only these 2 holes from .441/.445 to .452 (11,5 reamer) allowed both the 4 bolts to freely be installed and torqued. More important was the Pilot Shaft Retainer diameter indicated within .002 TIR. With squareness to the flywheel holding at .002 to .004.
