Starter

I had received the adapter kit and I wasn’t quite ready to install, so it sat for awhile before actually installing it. Well, when I checked the kit out, I found that parts had been damaged in the packing, slight damage to the adapter plate and starter, was able to clean it up with a file. I would have rated the kit higher, but no one should have to deal with any kind of damage after paying such a price for a product.

Nice kit but…

The parts I received were great and everything was there. But having spent $1500, it would of been nice to have instructions or a video of potential issues that happen or things that need to be done to get everything to fit. I had to cut and grind part of my block to get the starter in the right clock position. I also had to cut a hole in the side of my ZF5 bell housing so the starter gear would not hit the bell housing. Maybe this transmission wasn’t tried with this kit before. In the end I am glad to have a 4WD overdrive transmission for my FE 390 truck.
